Performance Auto Group Sponsors Big Bike Ride Niagara, Raises Over $2,100

Performance Auto Group has participated in the 2017 Big Bike Ride Niagara, and has raised over $2,100 for the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

The ride was held on Monday, June 12 at the parking lot of Kelseys Original Roadhouse in St. Catharines. A total of 21 employees from various Performance dealerships helped cycle the thirty-seat, 2,000 lbs bike through two kilometres of city streets.

The bike helped draw much-needed public attention towards the need to support research into heart disease and stroke. It received a great response from everyone on the road, with people honking car horns and cheering the team throughout the route.

The team had plenty of fun as well, and was proud to have participated in the fundraising effort. "We all had a great time riding the big bike, and created much-needed public awareness about heart disease and stroke. The conditions sadly prove fatal for over 70,000 Canadians annually, so it is crucial to help raise funds for research," said Lindsay Slessor, Senior Graphic Artist at Performance Auto Group.

This is the sixth time that Performance Auto Group has participated in Big Bike Ride St. Catharines. "Our participation in this event shows people that we care about the same things that they do. Performance is committed to making a positive difference in the community, and hopes to inspire others to do the same," said Lindsay.

Performance Auto Group's sponsorship of the 2017 Big Bike Ride Niagara is a part of the group's Drive Change initiative, which ensures that our organization gives back visibly to the communities which we serve.
