Performance Mercedes-Benz Sponsors No Fixed Address, Helps Raise Over $46,000

Performance Mercedes-Benz has sponsored the YWCA Niagara Region's No Fixed Address event, and has helped raise over $46,000 for the charity's support programs.

The event was held at the parking lot of Niagara's largest shopping mall - the Pen Centre. Over 400 people took part in the 24-hour Live-In-Your-Car-A-Thon to raise awareness about homelessness and poverty in the Niagara region.

Performance Mercedes-Benz set up Performance Auto Group's event tent at a highly-visible location inside the parking lot, and also showcased two Sprinter 2500 High Roof Cargo Vans. The tent and the vehicles were all open for participants to spend the night in, and helped reinforce Performance's commitment to give back to the community.

The dealership also provided dinner to all early participants, and served a freshly-prepared pasta dish to over 250 people free-of-charge.

Performance Auto Group Community Ambassador Bill Anderson said that No Fixed Address is a significant event for Niagara's residents, as it raises funds and awareness about homelessness in the region. "No Fixed Address has a huge community following, and sees participation and support from people across the Niagara region. The event features activities aimed at educating people about homelessness, and challenges them to spend a night in a car or under a tent. This helps to not only raise vital funds for YWCA Niagara, but also helps raise awareness about the lives and struggles of homeless people. Therefore, we are very proud to have sponsored this important social event," he said.

No Fixed Address supports numerous community services in the Niagara region, including YWCA's Emergency Shelter, Transitional Housing, and skills development programs. In the past year alone, the charity helped provide housing to over 700 women and 440 children.
