Performance Auto Group hosts Niagara's United Way Golf Tournament, Helps Raise over $50,000

Hundreds of people have attended Performance Auto Group's 23rd Annual United Way of St. Catharines and District Golf Tournament, and have helped raise $51,512 for the United Way of Niagara.

The event was held on Monday, August 15, 2016 at the Peninsula Lakes Golf Club in Fenwick, Ontario. Over 180 golfers participated in the tournament, and a total of 205 people attended a first-class dinner at the club to help raise funds for United Way's programs and initiatives.

The entire event was organised and managed by Performance Auto Group as presenting sponsor, and saw all Niagara dealerships put up vehicle displays throughout the golf course. Every hole had two or three vehicles on display, with sales consultants on hand to engage people with product presentations and interactive games.

Bill Anderson, Performance Auto Group Community Ambassador and Chairperson of the event, said the tournament has been organized by the group for decades and is a very important part of the company's commitment to the community. "Performance Auto Group has been the tournament's presenting sponsor for the past 23 years. This means that we have had sole ownership of the event's set up, organization, and promotion for over three decades. To date, we have raised over $800,000 for the United Way of Niagara via this tournament, and we are very proud of that", said Bill.

The United Way of St. Catharines and District Golf Tournament is considered one of the top fundraising events in the entire Niagara region. It raises funds for over 74 essential programs and special initiatives for local communities, and donates to nearly every medical research organization in the region, including those for cancer and heart disease. The United Way of Niagara also raises funds for community food programs, and supports initiatives to end hunger, homelessness, poverty, and drug abuse.

Performance Auto Group's organization of the United Way Golf Tournament is a part of the group's Drive Change initiative, which ensures that our organization gives back visibly to the communities which we serve.
