Brantford Toyota and AutoPlanet Direct have marked this year's Anti-Bullying Day by dressing up entirely in pink, and have helped raise much-needed awareness of the need to bring an end to all forms of bullying.
The day, also known as Pink Shirt Day, was marked on February 22, 2017 and saw all Brantford Toyota and AutoPlanet Direct staff members put on pink T-shirts to symbolize their stand against bullying.
Brantford Toyota purchased all related items, including shirts, buttons and pins, exclusively from the Boys and Girls Club of Brantford to help support the youth organization's fundraising efforts. All proceeds from the purchases will go towards supporting summer camps, after-school activities, evening drop-ins and other related year-round services offered by the Boys and Girls Club of Brantford.
Brantford Toyota General Manager Ben Cliff and AutoPlanet Direct General Manager Zahid Ghaffar said they are both happy to have supported such an important event, and are proud to have joined hands with the community against bullying. Ben said everyone in society should make concerted efforts to highlight the danger posed by bullying, and should stand together to end it in all its forms. Meanwhile, Zahid said initiatives like Pink Shirt Day go a long way to educate and bring people together against bullying, which is why everyone should partake in them.
Brantford Toyota's and AutoPlanet Direct's participation in Pink Shirt Day is a part of Performance Auto Group's Drive Change initiative, which ensures that our organization gives back visibly to the communities which we serve.
