Performance Auto Group Partakes in Big Bike Ride, Raises Over $8,300

On Wednesday, October 14, 2015, a team of Performance Auto Group employees participated in the St.Catharines Big Bike Ride and raised $8,310.25 for the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
The team cycled the 30-seat, 2,000 lbs bike for twenty minutes using only pedal power, and helped raise awareness and funds for research on a disease that sadly contributes to over 70,000 Canadians dying each year.
Forty-five employees from Performance Chrysler, Performance Acura, Performance Hyundai, Performance BMW, Performance Lexus, Performance Toyota, and Performance Auto Group's accounting department participated on two big bikes for this 2.5 kilometre ride. The total amount raised included $1,000 raised through the annual Performance Auto Group Golf Classic in August 2015.
Lindsay Slessor, Graphic Designer at Performance Auto Group, participated in the ride and vowed that if she reached her personal goal of raising $250, she would wear a rabbit costume while she rode the big bike. Lindsay surpassed her goal by raising $330, and the rabbit was front and centre on the bike.
"The ride was for a great cause, as nearly everyone knows someone who has been affected by heart disease and stroke," said Lindsay, adding, "It was fun to participate in such an important charitable cause with my coworkers. Everyone had a great time, and I'm looking forward to partaking next year."
Performance Auto Group's participation in the Heart & Stroke Foundation Big Bike Ride is a part of the group's Drive Change initiative, which ensures that our organization gives back visibly to the communities which we serve.
